DTG printers use water-based pigments and a unique curing process. Because it uses water-based ink, it prints best on natural fibers such as cotton, bamboo, linen, and linen. Additionally, garments are usually pre-treated before printing. Pre-treatment presses heat into the custom garment to smoothen the fibers of the garment. Pretreatment also allows water-based ink to bond directly to the fiber, improving durability and extending the life of the print, especially for shirts that require a backing. After the customized garment has been properly pre-processed, the system platform will place it at the set position of the pressure plate system to fix it. Finally digital printing is done according to the provided design.
